2024
Baroque Lute Music, particularly the works of Silvius Leopold Weiss, has held a profound fascination for André. Since 2005, he has been deeply involved in the quest to find more ergonomic ways to interpret those works on the guitar without sacrificing its essence. To achieve this, he opted to perform some works from this repertoire on an 11-string guitar. In 2023, he took a significant step by releasing his first video, showcasing his performance of S.L. Weiss's Tombeau on his 11-string guitar.

During the pandemic, André dedicated himself more to teaching, temporarily taking on the position of a guitar teacher at the Städt. Musikschule Bayreuth between 2020-2022. From mid-2022, André Simao focused his pedagogical activities as a guitar teacher at the Städt. Musikschule Erlangen, where he has been working since 2014.

In 2018, André embarked on a tour in Brazil, participating in concerts with the mezzo-soprano Mere Oliveira and giving masterclasses at universities such as UNICAMP.
2016
In 2006, André did a concert tour across several cities in Egypt, performing with the Cairo Symphony Orchestra. Together with the violinist Mohamed Sharara and the conductor Ahmed El Saedi, they performed Gerald Garcia's Romantic Concerto.
2014
Alongside flutist Gustavo Mendoza, they carried out numerous recitals in Germany, focusing on exploring the repertoire possibilities for flute and guitar. Here’s a concert poster in Nuremberg.
2013
In 2013, André had an eventful year with performances in several countries, with the highlight being his debut in Paris. He also toured as part of prestigious Brazilian guitar series “Movimento Violão”, with concerts being broadcast throughout Brazil. Watch a clip of the concert here.

2010
Among the numerous concerts held this year, his solo recital at the Villa-Lobos Festival in the Netherlands, promoted by the Embassy of Brazil in The Hague, as well as his recital with mezzo-soprano Mere Oliveira at the Cervantes Institute in Budapest, are noteworthy.
2009
The year 2009 marked André's extensive international travel, during which he presented recitals in numerous countries, primarily to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Brazilian composer Heitor Villa-Lobos' passing (1887-1959). 2008
In 2008, André performed as a guest at the Leo Brouwer Festival in São Paulo, where he had the opportunity to meet this great composer and performed some of his guitar works for him.
In that year, André gave numerous concerts in Europe and Brazil. Here the concert program at the Chamber Music Festival in Montepulciano, Italy, where he performed as a soloist with the Minguet Quartet.
He also met with the Brazilian composer Ronaldo Miranda (*1948) in São Paulo, having the opportunity to work with him on his interpretation of Miranda's guitar piece, Appassionata.
2007
In 2007, a significant year for André, he moved to Germany through a DAAD scholarship to pursue a master's degree in performance at the Hochschule für Musik in Nürnberg-Augsburg under the guidance of guitarist Franz Haláz.
In the same year André receives the first prize in the Brazilian instrumental music competition "Premio Nabor Pires de Camargo", interpreting his own arrangements of works by this composer.
2006
Release of his first solo CD "Recital", which was recorded in Brazil and received excellent reviews.
2005
André presented numerous recitals across Brazil as a part of his recognition in the 'Furnas Geração Musical' competition. This competition saw over 300 young musicians until 25 years old from various instrument backgrounds applying. Furthermore, he contributed to the recording of the CD 'Furnas Geração Musical' alongside other finalists, which was released in the same year by Sony Brazil.
